Lucy Reed writes an interesting post regarding legal blogging and some of the hidden agendas. It’s well worth a read.
There is an unforeseen consequence of carpet bombing by so called tech experts. Lawyers get so dumbed down by the snake oil salesmen that they become ultra resistant to technology that could and does actually help and make a difference. It could be my tech, it could be tech by someone else…my point is that it could be good and very relevant tech.
What I know about SEO probably wouldn’t fill the back of a postage stamp. What I know about automation in legal services and how new entrants and tech will shape the future is market leading, right on the build edge…literally. But my value will get lost in the noise of other ‘tech’ rants and spins.
Lawyers may never know what could help them and probably suffer the consequences because real solutions are lost in the noise of fake meaningless ones.
Technology is my friend and I am going to defend him/her/it. Technology is your friend too. As in life you shouldn’t ignore your friends but choose them wisely.
