My name is Jon Busby and I am a Business Development Director at Epoq Legal, the company who have developed DirectLaw.

This blog is my personal take on events and trends in the legal services sector, especially around the area of online document drafting and its integration into law firms.

I am particularly interested in how online technology can empower brands, law firms and their customers. How technology can create a positive customer experience, deliver choice and provide enhanced service provision whilst driving efficiency into for law firms.

I do not deliberately ‘push’ DirectLaw or Epoq here, but I do share my experiences and observations that I have when engaging with law firms and major brands. I bring into the discussion ideas around online functionality that may be of interest. Some may call that blatant selling. I prefer to let people look at the information and decide for themselves.

I do feel that the legal sector in the UK is about to experience vast change with new ideas and methods of engagement about to be introduced. I think this means that lucid communication will be even more vital…and technology, via social media tools, has a major role to play in that.

I passionately believe that solicitors and law firms are part of the future in this market rather than being victims of it.
